Globeracers are athlete promoters, fund raisers, gear suppliers – of all things sport. They also help train aspiring athletes to reach their potential. At Globeracers, sport is more than just physical fitness. As part of promotion, the brand decided to launch a range of active wear for men and women. Our concept was to show the ‘spirit of sport’ in different illustrations. Some have an illustrated feel, other a minimalistic feel.
The #womenstrong initiative is an inspiration to all women to chase their dreams, to realise their true potential. This initiative was started by the founder of Globeracers and wanted a cycling jersey designed to support the cause. Our concept illustrates the idea of adventure and freedom. The women on their cycles seem to have a lightness as they soar towards the sky. The design encourages women to find power through sport.
Globe racers organise a yearly ultramarathon called the Run of Kutch near Bhuj, Gujarat.
Several participant across India take part in this run. We designed medals that were to be given out to the participants who successfully completed the run.
The medal itself is made in wood with a deep engraving of the desert dunes on it. In the dunes are prints of the runners who have left their mark. The ribbons used are embroidered ones that symbolize the colourful culture of Kutch in contrast to its dull and harsh geography as shown in the medal.
We also designed an honorary memento for runners that have been consecutively participating in the run and achieved well. The design is a cast metal shoe with the runner’s name engraved in it. The shoe has a salt crust on it’s sole from the Rann of Kutch.
